2 slack related questions
I have a TV-FM tuner card(bt878 chipset). It works just fine under RH 7.3 & RH 8.0. All I do is modprobe bttv card=36
then I run xawtv and watch TV. The same actions I made with slack, but it doesnt want to show me anything!
There wasn't any errors while loading a bttv module.

The second question is my USB scanner. It also works with Red Hat and not under Slack.
Whats the difference? Maybe any additional modules should be loaded?
Please help.

I am running a full install of Slack 8.1 and I could not locate the program xawtv anywhere on my system. You might try to google for it and download the app.

On your scanner question. The modules are located in /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/usb. Look through the list and see if there is one provided for your scanner. I did see a "scanner" module so you might just try "modprobe scanner". You might need your USB modules loaded first though. You can use the command "dmesg" to report the status if it detected a scanner. It would be the last lines that are printed.

Usually straight forward Slackware install there is no full support for USB devices, teh first thing I do when I install Slackware is recompiling kernel to suite my setup. If you feel comfortable with compiling your own version of kernel go ahead - there is a how-to's available in lots of places the one that I like the most is from Aussie's website
If compiling kernel looks eerie to you, then you might need to concider to install usb.i or usb.s kernels during installation steps of Slackware, but still it is limited as well.

Thanks for advice. I'll try to recompile a new kernel. Btw a xawtv iI installed from Red hat rpm. It seems to be workable.
