2.4-2.6 kernel upgrade->slow internet connection
Hello,everyone!
I upgraded my kernel from default 2.4.31-2.6.14.6 from Official Slackware website.However,after that,my Internet connection is very slow(I use broadband,though ).Do you guys have this problem?One thing which I can be sure is that the Internet connection is fine before upgrade.
P.S. I installed the kernel from package and using few parameters like jdb:ext3 to add modules.

Are you sure it's not a network issue? I have never seen a kernel upgrade slow an internet connection down.
I would recomend trying to boot back to the 2.4 kernel and see if it's slow there to, then let us know the results.

Dankles,thanks for your reply.
Actually,I think it is a kernel problem because it all get started after upgrading kernel.In Windows,there is no problem at all,same speed.And you talked about fall back to 2.4 kernel.Let me try it then..
I really appreciate your help.

Yea, Let me know how it goes. I would be Interested to see if the same problem exists in the 2.4 kernel. But if you say that Windows is fine, There might be a larger problem.

Once you've done booting, try running "dmesg | less" to see if you get any errors or conflicts of any kind reported during the boot-process.
/var/log/messages and syslog may also give some good indications..

maybe u just compiled support for the wrong NIC. or slightly wrong nic. e.g a different 3com than you actually had.
check what modules are loaded in your 2.4.x
