14.1 Going Live?
After updating my --Current today, I get this:
Code:
cat /etc/*release
NAME=Slackware
VERSION="14.1"
ID=slackware
VERSION_ID=14.1
PRETTY_NAME="Slackware 14.1"

Iirc that occurred in rc2; also, /etc/slackpkg/mirrors only contains options for 14.1 and -current.

All I can say is that everything is working fine, but, then, it is Slackware, distro of iron: Always works, never breaks (that's not original with me, by the way).

/etc/os-release is part of the aaa_base package, which was last updated 2013-10-14.

Slackware 14.1 release candidate 3. Last call.

I think it is cooked. The meat is resting before being carved. Just looking for any last minute show stoppers and allowing backend systems (SlackBuilds, mirrors, repositories) to be stabilised before going live. My nostrils are tingling! This WILL be delicious!

I'm having fun running RC3 - although I noticed at Distrowatch.com, RC2 & RC3 have not been posted or updated there...hmmm.

RC4 is less than a dozen bugfixes. It won't be long now. I'm holding out for more bugfixes to materialize.

Is there and RC4? I thought we were still at RC3+.
It doesn't matter much as long as the list and time get shorter!

You're right. The latest batch of changes didn't come with a notification of RC level. My error.

Not so much an error as wishful thinking! I am getting antsy myself!
My daughter has a birthday on the 14th and thinks it will be her gift from Pat - I told her she is a pessimist!
