13.37: what starts mcelog?

13.37 has this new package "mcelog" which is "a user space backend for logging machine check errors".

I noticed that it isn't actually running. It has a startup script /etc/rc.d/rc.mcelog which has execute permission, but as far as I can tell it isn't referenced from any other rc.* script, so there isn't anything to kick it off. Not that I need it, but this seems unusual for Slackware. Think it is a bug?

Maybe it's meant to start from rc.local if the site system administrator chooses to do so and edits mcelog.conf with any necessary site MCELOG_OPTIONS? Currently it's configured to start in daemon mode, vice cron or trigger, but like you said there's no calling script.

I would think that Pat would have put some comments in the rc.mcelog file if he intended the start up of this to be customized? Maybe it should of been in testing first?
