Question 10.1 Mircosoft Wireless USB mouse issue

Hello!

I just installed slackware 10.1 on my zd8000 laptop and so far everything is working really, really well except for my Microsoft Wireless Notebook mouse. I tested the mouse before in DSL and it worked just fine.

So, I plug in this mouse and it seems to be recognizing it. In fact, after some screwing with xorg.conf I managed to get the mouse to move, except if I move it left and right it goes up and down. Moving it up and down acts like its scrolling up and down, and clicking various buttons make the mouse move right at various speeds.

Also, I am using my touchpad (that operates very nicely by the way) with my mouse.

Code:
    Identifier "Mouse1"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "ImPS/2"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
    Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"

EndSection

Section "InputDevice"

Identifier "USB Mouse"
 Driver "mouse"
 Option "Protocol" "imPS/2"
 Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
 Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
 Option "Buttons" "5"

...
EndSection
    InputDevice "Mouse1" "CorePointer"
    InputDevice "USB Mouse" "SendCoreEvents"
    InputDevice "Keyboard1" "CoreKeyboard"

Do you get the following in dmesg?
Device 'i823650' does not have a release() function, it is broken and must be fixed.
Badness in device_release at drivers/base/core.c:85

By googling, this relates to a bug in infrared devices, and effects 2.6.10 & 11. Perhaps this is related to your infrared mouse. I've been thinking about looking into wireless devices, but this seems it will be problematic until it's resolved. Perhaps there's a patch somewhere, and maybe its been fixed in latest kernels. Help anyone?

Strangly it works just fine in the newest Knoppix, Fedora, and DSL distros, maybe there is a way of moving some parts of the drivers from those distros or something...
