10.1 -> 11
Hello everobody. Can I upgrade my 10.1 system directly to 11 ? I need mysql 5.x version, and I don't want to install it from source

According to Pat, the official upgrade path is:
10.1 > 10.2 10.2 > 11.0 From the 11.0 UPGRADE.TXT file: "This document explains how to upgrade from Slackware 10.2 to Slackware 11.0" http://slackware.mirrors.tds.net/pub....0/UPGRADE.TXT I'm not sure about keeping the MySQL version that came with 10.1 and running it on 11.0, but 11.0 does come with MySQL. |
Ok, I thought the same way.
Maybe exist an easy way to upgrade MySQL 4.x to 5.x when installing it from source ? If I will compile new version of MySQL with the same options, as old one (installed from the package), remove old and install new (from source) - will i have a troubles or this is the correct way? |
I'd say that would be less work and a better result than upgrading.
