1. Libreoffice chart slow and unusable. 2. Gnumeric menus has black background.
Recently, I tried to make some simple charts using LibreOffice 4.2.1 and 3.6.5 versions both taken from SBo. The action was very slow making it unusable.
I switched on and off Java JDK and OpenJDK from Alien, but no luck at all.
How can it be fixed ?
Gnumeric was OK as of charts, but the top and bottom areas with black bkgnd is simly awful. How to turn it on ?

I don't know about LibreOffice, but about Gnumeric: what desktop environment are you using?

Gnumeric background may be a theme problem - I had a problem with black text on a black background in pcmanfm (on an LXDE desktop); changing the theme to adwaita fixed the problem.
