[SOLVED] xfce4-systemload-plugin bug reappears in 1.2.2

When systemload switched from GTK2 to GTK3, a bug was introduced having to do with using tooltips for near-real-time info. I posted a source patch for that in April 2018, and it was incorporated into the source SlackBuild for 1.2.1. Patrick just updated to 1.2.2, and the patch (which is a context diff) went away because the context (but not the actual code change) changed. So the bug reappeared - hovering over the panel item no longer displays anything if the update interval is 500ms or less. Here's the source patch, as fixed for 1.2.2. Hopefully, the source SlackBuild maintainer will see this and incorporate it in the source SlackBuild as he/she did last time. It would be nice if it found its way into the systemload source, but since systemload runs on multiple distributions and platforms, that may be too much to ask. Cheers...

Oops, sorry about that. My fault. We'll get it fixed up in a package rebuild, and more importantly, I've passed along the bug to the systemload plugin maintainer upstream.

So... here's the conversation with previous maintainer:
Code:
18:47 <+gaston> rworkman: i'm tired of that crap
18:48 <+gaston> rworkman: the previous bug has been open for 1+ year, the fix that worked for me was in master for 1 year; and now you're telling me things
                are still not right ?
18:49 <+gaston> rworkman: if you want to fix it, kudos: you've been appointed the new maintainer :)
19:00 <+rworkman> haha, wow
19:00 <+rworkman> gaston: so basically what fixes it for some folks doesn't for others? Sheesh
I want to stress that gaston's remarks should absolutely NOT be interpreted as negative toward me or Slackware or anything along those lines. That said, here's the commit to which he's referring: https://git.xfce.org/panel-plugins/x...1f421461bcdfa7

If you can figure out why that didn't fix it and provide the proper fix, he'd probably accept it. Alternatively, if you want to be the plugin maintainer, there's that :-)

Come join us in #xfce-dev on freenode if you'd like to talk to gaston in real-time.
