Does KsCD rip audio CD's? I'm not sure, it's been a while since I've used KDE. Mostly I use Sound Jucier, but I don't think it comes on the Slackware CD's.

If using KDE, then use Kaudiocreater.

It's called ripping. You may want to try cdparanoia.

I second cdparanoia, any gui frontend I used came up with an error or two. Cdparanoia just works.

Ripping is the process of extracting audio data from a CD.

Grip is the daddy. You'll also want lame for encoding.
