wget should have been installed in the N package when setting up slackware. Did you pick and choose packages when installing? Has xfce ever worked? You say 'suddenly xfce doesn't work' so I'm guessing it did once. When trying another user, are you loggin in as that user, or 'su'-ing to them?

wget isn't installed or not included in setting up Slackware, yes the XFCE was working before after I-don't-know-what-did-I-do, I just only remember that I'm trying to install wget, slapt-get using installpkg but only slapt-get was installed while wget has an error when trying to ./configure.

Please try to see your logs, what "cat /var/log/messages" say ? If you see a bunch of sdX access errors your hdd is dying most probably or a bad cable.
You get errors because your FS is corrupt, if you ever installed those packages.
If you try to do as TobySGD said you will be able to see quickly on whats going on. I personally would just try to overwrite what you already have installed with the slackware install disk. Just start a new install, do not format the partitions, and try to finish the installation. You can follow the happenings on the ALT+F4 console and see if errors appears.

You didn't answer whether you did a pick and choose packages when installing or not.
Wget definitely should have been installed. Here it is in package N on 64 bit: http://mirrors.slackware.com/slackwa...4-x86_64-1.txz
Here it is in Package N on 32-bit: http://mirrors.slackware.com/slackwa....14-i486-1.txz
If you did a full install, it should already be installed. If it isn't, then you either have very bad corruption or have had packages removed randomly.
Either way, you are missing more packages than you probably realise and seeing as you don't know what you've done, I would suggest just reinstalling.

I would suggest to do a proper diagnosis before "just reinstalling", since the logs indicate hardware failure, which will not be fixed by reinstalling the OS.
