[ANN] Soma 2.13.0

Yet another update :)

Changelog:

Fix another scheduler bug.
Add genre support.
Move Theme option to main menu.
Add time format option.
Updated all broken BBC URLs.
Removed some broken URLs.

The big addition is genre support.
With this update are included some genre files which are saved to ~/.soma/genres the first time that soma runs.
If you follow the Genre menu and select a genre, only stations in the selected genre file will be displayed in the station selector.
You can edit the genre files or make your own.
The 'Update Genres' menu will check all the system genre files for new stations and update your local ones. Useful when soma is upgraded.
New genre files will automatically be added on upgrading soma.

Some stations appear in more than one genre.
It is sometimes hard to pin down some stations to definite genres, and some of you might have better
ideas than me which stations should go in which genres, so please let me know your suggestions.
Also, if you think of new genres, please let me know those too.

I hope that this version fixes the 'flashing' station list problem that some people are having.

Enjoy!

*Edit: Made a small update that may fix the problem some people are having with station selector not displaying.

Would it be possible to have a favorites/bookmark option to create a favorite station list?

Yes, I can look into that.

sunta 12-03-2017 10:38 AM

Don't know it's just me but when I select a genre and choose a station from it, then try to change to another station on the main menu it takes me straight back to the genre list I just selected instead of the main stations list.

dive 12-03-2017 10:41 AM

Yes, that's by design. The idea is that you only see the stations from the genre until you change to another genre.

To see the whole list you need to select 'All' from genre list.

Ok, thanks dive.

Just gave this a try. It's working nice here, especially now that I figured out how to find urls of streams. Thanks!

It probably depends on the stream, but I was listening to one on tunein.com and this tutorial helped:

My new `soma` streams work perfectly using the `view source` ; `find the stream` method from a set of TuneIn Pages.

Thanks montagdude !
