Question More Distribution sub forums

What's the policy with adding new ones, because it seems a lot of traffic in them would flow into Mandrake and RedHat ones, while still leaving plenty of activity with slightly less common flavours, like Suse, Gentoo and Knoppix etc.
Or dont you want to risk the base forum running dry or having to add more and more sub forums?

this has been asked loads, surely you've read the threads with almost 1000 posts of your own?

we have specific forums for distributions which link specifically in with the site. e.g. LQ is the officially recommended forum for slackware and the others.

we also have solaris and bsd as they are notably different from Linux.

Proud,

Just would like to add the we are actively working on getting more distribution forums. If you would like to see a specific distro have a forum here and you know someone (or *are* someone) at that distibution who may be able to get something going please let me know.

Hello everybody may I ask a question about KNOPPIX 3.2 I have run it from cd and also installed it to my hard drive and I have a problem, the programme will not find my sound card. It is Avance 97 on the mother board I have tried installing Alsa drivers and the alsa player tools, utils, etc but I can't get a peep out of it. I also run SuSE 8.2 and Mandrake 9.1 and they find the sound card with no problems at all
Can someone give me any tips as to how I can get the sound working on Knoppix 3.2 it is the latest iso 6-6-2003. I don't understand why SuSE & Mandrake can find it but not Knoppix
Thank You
