Got the ISO working...Now How to set up dual boot xp and suse 9.3

What do I need to set up dual boot.

Will Linux walk me through the setup of a new parition or do I need to set up a partition first.

Is there another program to allow me to switch between OS during boot.

What is the minimum amount of space I can allocate for suse 9.3

Any help would be much appreciated

Suse should do everything for you (auto partition). Just make sure you pay attention to what it says during the partition part of installation to make sure that it isn't going to do anything wrong. Of course, always backup anything you need before doing so. I can't remember which boot loader Suse uses but lilo/grub if the setup goes right will ask you which OS you want to boot from when you first boot up your computer. I'm not sure about a minimum. I would suggest about 2 gigs. But this also depends on what you want to install. A default installation I think is over 2 gigs but I'm not sure.

The post IchBin links to explains what's error 17. It doesn't explain how to fix it in your case, because we don't know at which stage of installation you are. Pleasedescribe us the options you choose just before the error occurs.

The point I am at in the instilation is: Base instilation and then it has completed language, instilation settings and perform instilation. It has the rebooted and on startup this is occuring. I believe this is the beginning of the configuration attempt

From what you write it looks that it performs partial install (bootloader, which actually fails). It may be something different, though. Do you have free space for the installation (not allocated to any partition) or all is allocated?
