Question Sawfish and refresh when resizing or moving windows...

Hello,

Do you know how to configure SAWFISH (window manager) so that the windows will not be refreshed when the user resizes or moves them?

In another thread, I envisaged to use XFCE instead of Sawfish, but we guys didn't figure out how to do that (so far at least).

=== My motivation:
I'd like to know how to do this because my PC is slow... And I like it fast with windows! (not W... of course )
(BTW if "cat" was a trademark (in fact it is already I think), then how should I call my cat to avoid a trial?) )

Sylvain.

Lightbulb Solution: I'm using gnome-panel with XFCE4

Hello,

The solution for me was (in short) to:
- use XFCE (actually xfce4),
- start the GNOME panel (with the command gnome-panel) from XFCE4,
- stop the xfce4-panel (because the Gnome panel is enough for me),
- configure XFCE4 so that the windows are not refreshed while resizing or moving (the opposite of the 'opaque' mode that I don't like because it needs CPU)
- save the XFCE session before logging out.

Now, each time I log in from gdm (XFCE4 session selected), the window manager (yes, XFCE4) starts, then the GNOME panel starts, and all is fine.

I obtained (almost) exactly what I was looking for!
I'm happy with it.

Cheers,
Sylvain.
