net-setup details

Hello ,

Very very beginner user for gentoo-linux here. I installed gentoo while installation i got network vi using net-setup and it was working just fine. After installation, well i couldnt get network up and running.

So maybe getting details of how to get a 'net-setup' script or service that runs on live cd environment smoothly. I would like to have similar one in gentoo, at least this is what i can get think of at the point consodering all the steps i have followed so far. Please let me know if this is a dummy query and i can try to replace my question with a better one.

I imagine you should have network access when plugged into your router directly via the ethernet port, if needed for configuring your wifi device --> 00:14.3 Network controller: Intel Corporation Comet Lake PCH-LP CNVi WiFi

Gentoo is considered an "Expert Linux" distribution. If you are no Linux Expert things take time to set up, but persistence pays off. Gentoo does have extensive documentation, when looking for help setting up hardware, stick "Gentoo" in the search keywords.

thank you so much for your answers. Since its quite hard to solve issues with wireless connection i went for a fresh install and with cable. I will try to update here once i got that wifi setup again.
i will try my chances with persistence. Im not an expert but an IT guy , so this also should pay off to make something techy up and running with some help like this. Thanks a lot for community work and collaboration that we can get.
