is here anyone who can edit my picture - like with photoshop or gimp?

i did a pretty picture using permanent pencils and colored pencils.

its size a3, there is poorly made shadowing on that picture. i would be happy if some one could modify (soften) those shadows. and make it pretty.

i did try to soften the shadows with gimp but i am not good using it.

Maybe. Depends what you're asking for, which isn't clear.

Which shadows are you referring to? The physical shadow (gradient in the bottom right corner), or the drawn ones (e.g. primarily beneath the snake's head), or the border drawn in V2, or something else?

What does "soften" mean to you? Reduce sharpness? Reduce contrast? Reduce blackness? something else?

Also, depending on specifically what you want, Krita might be a better choice (though it does requires a graphics tablet to be used effectively).

yes, the gradient in the bottom right corner, also visible pencil strokes on that picture, by soften i mean "blurring" visible colored pencil strokes so that it looks "good".

version 1 would be the one i want edited. i think i am going to buy "graphics tablet" where i can paint using computer.
i havent drawn in about 20 years so quality of that pic isnt that good.

So long as you understand that a graphics tablet and stylus is not the same as drawing/painting - it's obviously closer than using a mouse, but it's still distinctly different and takes practice to get used to. But yeah, Krita is a fun application to use for all sorts of things.

Anyhow, here's a quick edit with GIMP...

* First used the magic wand tool to select the background and fill it white - but that felt too harsh/bright so I put it on its own layer with opacity 75.
* Then I used a filter Garagecoder "Deblur Texture" with Action set to Smooth, in order to reduce the pencil strokes whilst not over-softening the edges.
* Finally I used Colors > Curves to boost the contrast a bit.

Hope that's what you had in mind?

Cool.

If you plan to get a non-Wacom tablet, then Digimend has a compatibility list: https://digimend.github.io/tablets/

I think Wacom are a bit like Apple - you pay for the brand.

The Intuos Pro Large has an active area of 311x216mm - that's about twice the Medium's 224x148mm active area.

My Huion is mid-way between the two with an area of 279x174mm, but was only around €70.

ok, thanks for the info.

Wacom Intuos Pro Large has 12 month warranty and 1.85% maintenance percentage, with zero replacements at one finnish computer firm. (one of the biggest firms in finland) and pricetag of 482€.
