problem with apcupsd

I am running slackware64-current. With the new kernel (5.14.1 huge) many messages (about one every 0.02 sec.)

hid-generic 0003:051D:0002.0003: control queue full

appear in dmesg. It seems that apsupsd is responsible for this.
After killing apcupsd the messages stop.

How to fix this ?

there's a proposed patch upstream for this issue but it hasn't been accepted or made in the kernel point releases yet.

other issue with apcupsd

apcupsd is acting odd, telling me NOBATT, tried a number of things and can't get apcupsd to give a normal report, however, the ups seems to be acting like it should.

dmesg has no messages like Toutatis. current all current using generic

@Toutatis, does
Code:
/sbin/apcaccess status
give
Quote:
STATUS : NOBATT
I looked in /var/log/dmesg as you said you did but nothing was there, I found what you found in /var/log/syslog.

@ponce, thanks for the info.
