[SOLVED] Recompiling lynx: slackbuild

Here is the situation I am facing with lynx: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...f8-4175700130/

I found out that lynx, shipped with Slackware 14.2 is pretty old: 2.8.8rel.2 (09 Mar 2014). So I downloaded the latest stable version and compiled. But it would be better to make it as a package.

Is it possible to get the slackbuild for it, so I could create a package? I couldn't find it anywhere.

You can probably run it on 14.2 with just some little modification

Upgraded lynx-2.8.8rel.2 to lynx-2.8.9rel.1. No luck, it works the same.

I solved it. We need to add -assume_charset=utf-8 parameter:

lynx -dump -assume_charset=utf-8 --display_charset=utf-8 ~/muss.html

Or explicitly set

ASSUME_CHARSET:utf-8

in /etc/lynx.cfg
