Unable to boot USB stick to install slackware
I have been trying to install slackware on my galago pro from system76 and I have not been able to boot my slackware 14.2 install media. I am unsure of what the problem is because there is no output on the screen. I only see the message echoed by grub stating that it is starting the kernel and the initrd image. At that point it hangs and I have to reboot.
my galago pro only supports UEFI.
I have tried using isohybrid with the --uefi option but that did not work as my computer still loads grub when trying to boot from the usb stick.
I could not find any solutions to this problem on the internet (the solutions I tried did not work). would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction?
EDIT: for some reason my posts have to be reviewed by a moderator before being posted so I am going to edit this post to say that bassmadrigal's suggestion was the solution. My laptop was probably just too new to run slackware 14.2. slackware-current worked very well.
