[SOLVED] tethering not working bluetooth and usb to phone

got it working in windows to troubleshoot phone.

in linux with bluetooth it will connect briefly but wont get a ip address

usb tethering doesnt work either despite having usb tethering modules loaded from kernel

using slackware current from 3-5/6-19

usb0 doesnt showup with ifconfig -a

when connecting to bluetooth device it says connected then could not get address

Mmmmmm.....

What's the phone? OS and version?

How do you try to connect to Bluetooth? How do you try to tether?

Did you try from cli? Any logs?

phone is a zte 812 os is android 4.1

connect to bluetooth with network manager

not sure on cli

only thing I have seen in dmesg is

problem solved I am sol on zte 812. couldnt reproduce connecting to net with windows and looks like my zte812 wont do what I want.
