sdl2-dev?

I'm looking for sdl2-dev package for something that needs libsdl2.

Slackbuilds has the SDL2 package but not SDL2-dev

normally I'd just download the code and configure and make but their site says:

Quote:
Linux:
Please contact your distribution maintainer for updates.
https://www.libsdl.org/download-2.0.php

and doesn't say where to get the dev code. Anyone tried before?

Other distros split packages into user-oriented sub-packages and developer-oriented sub-packages. Slackware does not do this. A Slackware package contains everything, from binaries and libraries to headers.

If you look for libSDL.so, it is part of Slackware's "sdl" package. And libSDL2.so is part of "SDL2".

I looked at the Slackbuild last night and didn't see it but I do now.
I guess I just need to specify the path to it.
