thumbnail.so maxes one CPU core with AlienBob's Kde5

I upgraded to Alien Bob's KDE 5 a bit ago and noticed my cpu fan started running. I checked and see that thumbnail.so is maxing one core. If I kill it and then browse some more folders with Dolphin it starts up again and maxes out a cpu core again.

Any suggestions here?

Try using lm-sensors to control the fan.

Um... unless I have misunderstood, the issue is not that the fan is running, it's that one CPU is being maxed. The fan is supposed to be running.

You're right the fan is suppose to be running.

I could be wrong but maybe system calls is what's causing the high cpu usage-

Try running this cmd to get a more in depth readout-

iostat -xk 5

What is the top command reporting that's causing the cpu to be maxed out?

thumbnail.so is whats maxing out. I get that far (i.e. I know how to tell what process is causing high cpu). My issue is why is thumbmail.so getting stuck?
