Hi All, Not sure what this means "isolinux.bin missing or corrupt" but this has started to appear after operating, and still operating quiet successfully for months since installing OpenSuSE Leap 15_64 bit_x86. It is just a bit disconcerting that this message has appeared.
Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? Is going to cause any lost or corrupted files I build?
My system is a
Mobo- GigaByte GA-990FXA-UD3
CPU- AMD FX8350 8 Core Black Edition
Graphics- AMD Radeon Pro WX-5100
RAM- 32GB (4 x 8GB) Skill RipJaws
HDDs- 2 x 4TB Raid 0 ; 2 X 2TB ; 2 x 128/256GB SSD ; 2 X 2TB 2.5GB HDD.
PSU- 850Watt Seasonic
This is a graphics works station I use for designing mechanical solutions so is reasonable powerful system.
I have taken to also back up to external HDDs just to be on the safe side as I cannot afford to lose my files.

still operating quiet successfully
this shows during very early boot process (just after grub)?
and your system is working normally otherwise?
i wouldn't worry about it, but keep it in the back of my mind.
Back to Master and double Back-up hard disk drives.
Thanks ondoho.
I have doubled my back-up and storage of files into extra HDDs I have available. Your words have taken a bit of the apprehension out of my work on this computer. A bit of extra work but loosing a file would be disastrous. I found out from my Microsoft early days when an automated Microsoft upgrade came through & corrupted one of my [massive CAD] files and it took out my HDDs backup at the same time when I was not at my desk. No longer do automated updates of any sort on any of my electronic equipment.
Hi. The file isolinux.bin is a part of syslinux bootloader. Take a look at syslinux wiki.
By the way, 'syslinux' is a bootloader (like Lilo o Grub). It does livecds can be booteables. It means you are using a livecd (o pendrive). May be (the iso image) is damaged.
Have a nice day.
Hi Ondoho. You are right. Syslinux can use on HD (it is really easy to configure and can install on MS-DOS partition). And is used for booteable CDs; time ago i do cds and dvds using syslinux to boot recovery systems, not only linux, MS-DOS too.
It is a great tool.
Good commentary.

How, where and when does it appear?
I.e. what are you or the computer doing when this message appears? Is it a popup on the desktop? Does it only appear when you restart the system? Is it in a log file, or the kernel message buffer, or in a terminal window?
As others have said, isolinux.bin is part of the syslinux suite of simple boot loaders. It's popular for booting CD-ROMs/DVD-ROMs, as the name implies. Normally OpenSUSE uses Grub, not Syslinux, for starting the operating system, so it's puzzling to see such an error message.
