Not sure what to tell you..you provide no details about the version of RHEL (you say 5-7..which is VERY broad), and only say "application"...WHAT application(s) are you talking about? What does it do, and what does it interact with? Read the "Question Guidelines" and the LQ Rules, and don't use text-speak.
That said, if you're using RHEL, have you contacted Red Hat support? You are PAYING for RHEL, right?????
hi,
rhel 5-7 sorry rhel 5 to thel 7.the application must to be stopped before apply yum update?tnx.
Again: DO NOT USE TEXT SPEAK. And restating what you said before doesn't answer the questions. AGAIN: do you mean RHEL 5.x TO 7.x, or do you mean RHEL 5.7?? What 'application' are you talking about?
Read the "Question Guidelines" link; YOU need to do basic research first, before posting. That includes reading the documentation that is on RHEL's website.
You need to **STOP USING TEXT SPEAK** as you've been asked. It's "thanks" not 'tnx'; again, that's in the LQ Rules.
You were asked if you're PAYING for RHEL...answer; are you?
What 'application' are you asking about???
If you're not paying, don't use it, period. You won't get updates/patches/bugfixes/security fixes, and not be able to load from the online repositories. Load CentOS instead. If you ARE paying for it, then call Red Hat and ASK THEM about upgrade possibilities. They will be more than happy to walk you through things. Again, we are happy to help you, but you double-posted this question, are ignoring what you're being told, and not answering questions when asked. Little point in posting if you just want to re-state the question over and over.
Yes, you can upgrade from RHEL 6 to 7...if you are PAYING for RHEL.
