Why is the kdesudo package missing in Kubuntu 18.04?

For some reason, kdesudo is missing from the Ubuntu 18.04 repository. I had to go to the Ubuntu repository website and download the 17.10 package, and install that.

Any ideas of why it wasn't included in 18.04? I use it to launch root-mode programs, especially Krusader.

If it's the same situation as gksudo, Ubuntu decided to deprecate it (and not provide it) in favour of Polkit.

I only found that out yesterday when I advised someone using Ubuntu to use gksudo and they didn't have it on their system. Polkit looks unnecessarily complicated for ordinary home single-user use, imo, so I just went back to the old days and advised the user to use sudo instead.

The problem with sudo is that it'll leave .config/.local files owned by root.
You'll have to occasionally do a 'chown -R userid:usergroup .??*" to put things right.
