Thumbs down Thunar "File Operation Progress" frame blinks annoyingly

After upgrade from "Jessie" to 9 "Stretch" a new 'feature' has appeared in Thunar. Some clever programmer has decided that when any file is moved, the "File Operation Progress" frame should blink until a mouse pointer is moved over it. I would like to undo this 'improvement', as I find it extrememly distracting.
I have a psychological disability that reacts to flashing stuff with increasing discomfort ending in an epileptic-type fit if the disturbance is not removed. This new 'feature' is probably useful for some people, but for me, it is intolerable. I used to like Thunar, but now I avoid using it, because it makes my skin crawl.
I have read through the Thunar source code and find nothing like this, but perhaps I missed it. I suspect it is actually a signal sent to another program (which one?) to carry out the annoying blinking until stopped.
Does anyone know what has changed and why? Even more importantly, how to stop this horrible situation? I would be most grateful for any assistance.

Usually. Though I am not a Thunar user. I use Rox file manager and SpaceFM myself.

Code:
/home/harry/.config/spacefm
Usually any changes for user changes are in .config

That is where I would look to comment something out.

Good Luck.

Oh Yeah. Before making any changes in ~/.config/thunar

Make a backup 1st so you have a original in case you break something. Because of your edit.

Good thought, but have checked out ~/.config/Thunar and could not find the new feature I seek there. I doubt that it is a user configurable feature with a handy boolean that can be flipped.

The reason I think a Thunar programming bug has crept in is that I am now seeing the names of fields ('ReplaceDialoguePart1|', 'ReplaceDialoguePart2|') in dialogue boxes as well as the contents of those fields. These are what I seek in the source code but have not yet found. Somebody probably removed or inserted a comma to generate this innocuous bug.

While the ReplaceDialogue box is on the screen, it doesn't matter if you mouse over the 'FileOperations' box or not, the flashing persists. I suspect this is a GTK response to a Thunar call. If I find the lost or added comma (or whatever), I'll be close to my issue, I think.

I keep reading through https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~vcs-im.../head:/thunar/ in the hope that I can find it, but whether my programming skill is up to making a correction is another matter.

The good thing is that nobody else seems to have this issue.

Maybe I'll switch to another file manager while I find the bug. I had a fit earlier today, while reading a web page (different workspace), without realising this blinking, up on the panel, had caused it, until after the event. It must have been going on for a long time before I blacked out.
