patches

Hello guys, quick question...
The program I need is in the folder patches here:
ftp://mirror.cs.princeton.edu/pub/mi.../source/glib2/

How is the patches folder used? Just download its entire contents and run the slackbuild?
or this folder is JUST for upgrading the current version I have using slackpkg?

Regards,

the "patches" folder contains the packages, and the relative sources, that have been patched since a version of Slackware (in your case 14.2) has been released and contain packages and sources usable only with that version of Slackware: if you have that version installed you can download the packages with or without slackpkg (or, in alternative, build yourself a package from the sources) and upgrade your installed version.
FYI, you cannot use that sources folder to build a package for another version of Slackware (for example, 14.1) without updating also the packages that are dependencies of that (a few, in this case) and whatever has that package as a dependency (*a lot* of stuff, in this case).

Hello,

This is the source folder of package glib2-2.46.2-i586-3_slack14.2.txz. You don't need to download this folder unless you want to build the package by hand.
