Can't access NFS directory as root. Permission denied.

Hi,

I have created an NFS share on one Solaris 11 machine. It's a software repository. And I have then mounted it on another machine. I can access the directories above the last directory but when I try to cd to the final director even as root I get "permission denied". The permissions on the directory are 755.

What could this be?

On the NFS client check with command
nfsstat -m
if the mounted NFS is version 3 or 4.
I guess it's version 4, and you have to setup mapid and/or kerberos.
Consult the public Oracle docs!
You can search with Google, add keyword Solaris, and it will often refer to it.
As an alternative you can restrict the NFS server to version 3, or give a mount option for version 3 on the NFS client.

I extended the permissions to the sub directory of the NFS share and that seemed to solve the issue.
