Mint mate 18.1 32bit install freezes halfway through. Usually around downloading language packages. Live runs well. Runs xsane, SCSI large format scanner, and Gimp.
ASUS A7N8X-X mobo. Athlon XP 3200+ CPU. Either Nvidia AGP or Matrox pci video card (either run well under live session. 2Gb DDR 400 RAM.
I can install Mint Mate 13 32bit and latest antix 32bit from optical drive.
Have you tried disabling updates during the install or installing with no internet connection, then grabbing updates after the install is completed?
I have disabled option for downloading codecs, etc, and at somepoint opted out of the language packages. The install balked at that. Don't remember exactly what did I not option for. Will run the install again so I can report back what I am doing. Anything else to look for.
