Read the LQ Rules...this is an English-only forum. Post your question in English.

Ich danke für den wenig hilfreichen Hinweis - es stimmt mich froh , daß man in Österreich nur mehr Fragen auf Englisch stellen darf ! Beste Grüße .....

LQ has members all over the world: Germans, Austrians, Poles, Chinese, Russians, you name it! They all use English because we need a common language to discuss our problems. How else are we going to be able to help each other?

And since you're clearly able to use a translate service, you can also use the same one to post in English. Your first post here was also in German, and the LQ Rules are very clear; English only. This particular site isn't in Austria and even if it WAS, the site owner specifically stated English.

Don't like it? Then find a German-only site and post your question there. Otherwise, obey the forum rules and post in English. Those are your choices. Why should the members here put in extra time and effort to translate your posts to try to help you, when it is YOU that's having an issue, and won't obey the forum rules?

Sarcasm without doubt.

Martin Winkler, just because you live in Austria doesn't mean that we all live there. Linuxquestions is a global forum. Thanks to Cloudflare, one or two servers could actually be located in Austria, but LQ itself, as far as I know, comes from the United States of North America.

Interestingly, I have seen a similar thread somewhere else recently. The problem here, I think, is that OP assumes that we are some sort of customer support for the paid Xtra-PC stick. His questions lack detail, no doubt believing that it is our job to extract these from him.

Here's a translation of their question:
Quote:
I have Linux-Ubuntu20.04 LTS install. By means of Xtra-PC-Stick and am looking for the possibility to add already installed apps as starters to the dock.
How does it work ?
Answer:
It depends on the dock. Usually something like this:
right-click the panel => panel pfreferences => add items

Using Xtra-PC-Stick as a hard-drive for OS with space to load the apps, expect can install other apps for you OS/Xtra-PC-Stick.

You may consider a separate USB/Stick partition, or extra USB disk for either a /home amnd BackUps of your important data.

Self finds helpful using terminal with tar --help to create or recover backups.

AGAIN: You need to post in English. You were informed of this in your last thread, and twice in this one. Use another forum if you want to post in German, but otherwise you're just being plain rude by continuing to do this.

ondoho, while I understand and speak German, people like this are exactly why I don't re-post in English, because it only encourages them (and others) to to continue to do it, although I do understand the desire to try to help folks. He ignored the LQ Rules, posted how he felt like posting (and was sarcastic/rude about it), and still got an answer. I don't think that's really going to discourage him from doing it again.
