ASUS N10 Debian Jessie uboot

I would like this WiFi dongle to be operational either after bootup or by running some script automatically that will enable it.

On 3 different systems I have to remove the dongle and then plug it in to get it working.

I have tried enabling firmware blobs loading in the kernel, but it says it can't find the firmware in /lib/firmware/rtlwifi, ie rtl8712u.bin (error -2).

As I don't know where to look for the problem I welcome any suggestions of how I can do this other ways, if necessary.

Welcome to LQ.

chili555 takes the credit for the solution (see post #12):

Open Terminal, then copy and paste these commands one at a time, pressing Enter after each one:

sudo apt-get install git
git clone
cd rtl8192cu-fixes
sudo make install
sudo modprobe 8192cu
Realtek Linux driver:
