Unhappy Hackintosh file recovery!

Hi all, I have a Hackintosh!

Running Snow Leopard on an Acer box with Logic Pro Music software, -la de da!

Have had a setback in that for reasons unexplained, I put all my music files on a USB stick for safekeeping (!)

As you've prolly guessed, the stick is now corrupt and I'm looking for a means of recovering the files.

Have tried assorted downloads so I'm confident the files are there, but all the packages I've tried either fail at the point of file recovery, or ask for money before actually doing anything useful.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF A DECENT FILE RECOVERY FREEWARE FOR MAC OSX 10.6?

I'm sure there's one out there, if anybody knows it, it'll be you guys.

(Unix based command line stuff is fine, - I don't need GUI based only!)

Thanks again

Martin

since this is a usb stick, you can try recovery tools for any operating system, yes?

anyhow, the generic answer is testdisk/photorec.
take some time to get familiar with the software, and work on a copy!
