Trisquel Install Unable to See Internal SSD

I am trying to run Trisquel, an entirely free-software distribution, on a MacbookPro 2017 with touch bar, I know a computer made by the a not so free-software supportive company, but I really only made the full shift to a free software only mentality after I had already bought the mac.

fdisk -l doesn't note the internal ssd, an nvme drive, that the macbook pro has. This mac was made before the obnoxious "T2" chip came into play, which would have prevented this attempted install entirely. Other distro's of Linux, for instance Ubuntu's install, recognizes the internal drive. Lspci shows that the drive does indeed exist, but is "UNCLAIMED" -- meaning that there is no driver "claiming" the drive, even though the linux kernel has drivers for NVME, which, I even doubled checked, trisquel also has.

Any ideas as to why the install can't see the disk? Any suggestions? Any help at all is appreciated.

Sounds like what you need isn't installed into the Trisquel kernel. I wish you good luck on getting any wifi going. You won't have the use of anything that needs proprietary firmware, which, on a proprietary minded box like a Mac, might be a lot. I had one of those distros, heads - like tails but source code only. It didn't last long here.

I would junk trisquel asap and go with whatever turns you, and the Mac on. You can probably do trisquel if you really are obstinate or masochistic, I'm sure.
