I have another Kyocera printer (FS-C5150DN)and drivers offered by Linux Mint 'Printers' Application never worked for printing on both sides on my linux mint 20 (based on Ubuntu 20.04). So I found on Kyocera site a bunch of ppd files and installed my printer from one of them. Regrettably I don't see any ppd file for your model. I only found for model FS-1060DN. It was inside this file
https://www.kyoceradocumentsolutions...p.download.zip Though inside this archive in German archive you might be able to find also 1061DN.ppd~ file, but I have no idea why is this tilde at the end.
On Linux Mint 21 (based on Ubuntu 22.04) I tried to also install from ppd file but driver was installed automatically. It was from Printer settings that I was able to click to Make and Model button and was only then offered to install from ppd file. For my printer (and most of Kyocera printers) these ppd files are installed automatically into /usr/share/ppd/Kyocera/ from this link:

So I would try in your place to go to printer settings and then try to change driver from ppd file. Then point to ppd file for 1060DN model or remove ~ from 1061DN model and try with that. I saw that in Ubuntu on my Virtual Machine it is directly possible if you click to settings icon (little gear) and then click on Printer details. Here you have button to install driver from ppd file.
Only thing in settings that I had to adjust was color printing, as it was initially set to monochrome printing. That is between Mint 20.x and Mint 21.x.
