MX-16 is outstanding. What I like best about MX-16 is I don't have to use the terminal.

The "MEPIS family" of distributions (the "old" MEPIS, up until around late 2011 and early 2012, antiX, from 2006 to the present, and MX, derived from MEPIS by the antiX team with the assistance of the "MEPIS Lovers Community) have always had sensible and flexible software. Rarely do any of the systems, past, present, and hopefully future, have poor quality base installations. All of them are a sensible blend, offering slightly different configurations, depending on the specific instance and the target of each specific image, but they tend to be somewhat "lighter" in configuration than some of the more "popular" distributions, but I'd argue that the MEPIS family are well thought out, stable, and about as well-tested as they can be from a team of people that are relatively small in size, but wise in leveraging stable software sources and intelligent package choices along with solid system integration, resulting in efficient, effective, very usable systems.

MX-16 is excellent as a light to moderate weight general purpose system.
