New install of Centos.

I threw together a few spare parts and built a server that I am going to be using for testing purposes. I have bootable media on an 8G USB drive and am trying to boot this new server and install Centos 7.4. It gets to the initial Centos 7 screen and then what ever option I select or let it timeout and select fails. It just goes back to a blank screen and stays there.

I have tried rebuilding the USB device several times including using a minimal iso. I have tried setting the resolution to 640x480 in the boot string and that has the same results. I have also tried a new video adapter and monitor with no luck.

I am a little confused. It seems to find the device and boot it. I have tested out all of the components and that seems fine. It is not trying to write to the hard drive at this point. Can anyone assist?

What happens if you hit enter on the blank screen?

How did you create the boot media? The best way is the dd command.

In addition did you verify the ISO file via sha256sum

I tried hitting a number of keys including space, enter, esc, and the function keys. None of them did anything else.

When I run a sha256sum -c sha256sum.txt.asc 2>&1 | grep OK it comes back with the OK on the image.

Are you booting to a usb device or an internal hard drive choice?

Can we assume this is amd64?
