Question GCC test summary shows too many unexpected failures - LFS - GCC 8.2.0

Hi,

When I ran the GCC test using "make -j2 -k check", I am getting too many unexpected failures:

=== gcc Summary ===

# of expected passes 1533
# of unexpected failures 59736
# of unexpected successes 48
# of expected failures 108
# of unresolved testcases 24524
# of unsupported tests 6635
/tools/bin/gcc version 8.2.0 (GCC)

Compiler version: 8.2.0 (GCC)
Platform: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu
configure flags: --prefix=/usr --enable-languages=c,c++ --disable-multilib --disable-bootstrap --with-system-zlib
EOF
Mail -s "Results for 8.2.0 (GCC) testsuite on x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" gcc-testresults@gcc.gnu.org &&
mv /source/gcc-8.2.0/build/./gcc/testsuite/g++/g++.sum /source/gcc-8.2.0/build/./gcc/testsuite/g++/g++.sum.sent &&
mv /source/gcc-8.2.0/build/./gcc/testsuite/gcc/gcc.sum /source/gcc-8.2.0/build/./gcc/testsuite/gcc/gcc.sum.sent &&
mv /source/gcc-8.2.0/build/./gcc/testsuite/g++/g++.log /source/gcc-8.2.0/build/./gcc/testsuite/g++/g++.log.sent &&
mv /source/gcc-8.2.0/build/./gcc/testsuite/gcc/gcc.log /source/gcc-8.2.0/build/./gcc/testsuite/gcc/gcc.log.sent &&
true

Can I ignore these errors and continue? Or do I have to verify something before proceeding?

I read in a post that in certain virtual envs we can expect this to happen.

Not sure what to do.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I would try again but don't select multiple jobs with "-j". If
that doesn't significantly decrease the number of failures
then something is very wrong somewhere. I looked at some test
results and the most failures I ever saw was 393. I also, would
consider restarting Chap. 06 if you haven't adjusted the
toolchain in 6.10.

Yes, I have adjusted the toolchain and I have verified the the output using cat<last line of code with dirname>. So I am pretty sure that I adjusted the tool chain. I will stop parallel making and try without -j

Seriously you (OP) need to start using code tags in your posts, see here:

Well in that case, you have a choice to make. You can either deal with it, if you are satisfied that gcc can produce viable executables.
If not than you'll have no choice but to restart the entire book. You can not reuse your temporary tool chain, since you altered it.
