Move the "Edited by" line down to the bottom of post
I don't know how easy or otherwise this would be to do, but I was wondering if the the "Edited by" line could be moved down the bottom of the post box. I know people can login and that does move it down to the bottom of post, but it's annoying when your not logged in and it looks pretty stupid.
In case the above doesn't make much sense, I've attached a screenshot of what I'm talking about and hopefully it makes sense then.
I know it's a minor request, but just thought I'd ask.
It looks like the problem is just that your post isn't long enough. Or to put it another way, your location/distro info is too long, and extends beyond the length of your post.

Reason: just to get another edit example
It's not at the bottom of the post box. Look at the screenshot again.
I still think it is. To wit:
It is the last line in the cell <td> containing the post content. If an adjacent cell is higher/longer, then that will control the height of the containing row <tr> ... see ntubski's comment in #2.
The things below that in the "post box" are actually in a different row...It's a sort of "footing" to the post...containing the Rep scales (*number posts) in the first cell and the (*action buttons) and the "found helpful" text in the second cell.
(*only when logged in)
It doesn't seem practical to me to try to include that comment about the content of a post in that following row.
Just my opinion.

Especially since the reason the post container looks short is because there are so many words in the user information container. A better solution would be to put a limit on the amount of content that can be put in the user information column. That is, if people perceive the issue as a problem.

I think it is not annoying at all, and also does not "look stupid".
Why should the last edited notation not be immediately under the content of the post? It makes much more sense for it to be there than at the bottom separated by empty space. A forum post is not an academic article with footnotes at the bottom of pages. In the end, people go to a forum to get information, not marvel at the aesthetics of precisely laid out boxes. The priority of a forum's layout should be functionality, not minutitae of presentation.

Because it's easier to read, being the whole point of asking the question in the first place.

That's where we disagree - I have every right to take a different view.

Who says it is? I never said it was a "academic article with footnotes at the bottom of pages". I stated from post #1 that it's a minor layout request. I'm not asking for any major changes to the layout.

Yes, and it should be easy for those people to read. Once again, you seem to have a nasty habit of implying things that have not been said or implied. You have also misunderstood the request, as you seem to suggest that it was happening because of my user info to the left of the post being too long (which is clearly *not* correct, as it happens regardless of that when not logged in), and now you seem to be backtracking.
Jeremy, my request still stands, it's once again a very minor request, I'm not sure why Randicus Draco Albus seems to take issue with almost anything I dare to suggest, but it's still a simple request and I have no interest in debating it any further with someone who clearly loves picking holes in almost anything I suggest. I'm asking for no major changes to the layout, only a very minor change that IMO would not affect the general layout of the forum, other than adding space between the content of the post(s) and the "Edited by" line - nothing more. I'm quite happy to respect whatever decision you wish to make about it.
