opensuse tumbleweed and nvidia drivers for geforce 6200 card

Hello,

I have a tumbleweed 64bit install with the nouveau driver. The yast repository for nvidia does not have the driver for my geforce 6200 card so I downloaded the driver to compile and install the hard way, except that I have read about problems with the nvidia driver and tumbleweed. Does nvidida maintain a repository for older cards and should I even try to install the nvidia driver since I read about problems after users performed kernel updates and not being able to reinstall the driver?

I have a proprietory nvidia driver on my tumbleweed and never have a problem with it. I have a short script to handle changes in kernel.
I don't have to use a legacy driver and I think the 6200 probably needs legacy. But I can't see why it wouldn't work as long as you remember to reinstall on each kernel update.

edit: You can always go back to nouveau if you have any real problems.

My card does not seem to be supported in the nvidia yast repository, so it seems to be legacy. I can install the hard way the 304.137 driver. The nouveau driver works well. Much better than I remember with the earlier opensuse releases, however, running something like open arena slows the card down. I will do one more major system update before trying the nvidia driver with no further system updates afterwords.
