Jukebox (?) software / play local music over Bluetooth, but remote controlled

Hi folks, I have no idea where to post this, so please move it to a more suitable location if required.

I am looking to build a setup that will play music over Bluetooth, but do this blindly, automatically start playing a particular playlist when the receiving end is seeking to pair with it. I would also like to have some web/app control to do the usual media playback stuff like albums, controls, and whatnot.


Any ideas on what packages I should look to install for Bluetooth and the web/app controlled music playback?

Aiming to set this up on a Debian VM, but any distro is not out of the question if the packages are available only on that distro.

Preferably CLI.

Never dabbled with command line Bluetooth before.

My only experience is with Kodi, and it isn't designed to be run headless. But the Kore app on Droid does a wonderful job and has a library function that you can play from rather than searching in actual display. I use it all the time when I'm in another room in my home. Probably overkill but that is where I would start. It's easy to script things for Kodi as well with kodi-send. My installations take care of everything on their own with cronjobs and scripts. I just enjoy the media.
