It is of course the official binary from mozilla. No gentoo binary

Opens flawlessly in Seamonkey 2.49.1 on Slackware 14.2.

Gentoo has seamonkey and seamonkey-bin in portage.

workstation ~ # qlist -Iv seamonkey
www-client/seamonkey-bin-2.49.1_rc2

The link opens fine with this package. Your output shows the same installed,
so the problem must be with your computer. Post some logs after the crash.
