Angry External Drive Mounting Error

I just bought a new External Drive to back up the files on my Ubuntu Desktop. Connecting it to my system I get this Error Message:

[Error mounting /dev/sdc1 at /media/double_d/BACKUP PLUS: Command-line `mount -t "exfat" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000,iocharset=utf8,namecase=0,errors=remount-ro,umask=0077" "/dev/sdc1" "/media/double_d/BACKUP PLUS"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: unknown filesystem type 'exfat']

After trying to mount on my terminal, I still was denied access. What can I do please?

"unknown filesystem type 'exfat'" is key. Apparently your installation did not include exfat support. The packages exfat-fuse and exfat-utils may need to be installed. Which Ubuntu version do you have?

Not many Linux systems will include exfat support so you will generally need to install it. Links below give some information and tell how to install.
