My msi optimus laptop hangs at random time while playing with proton

Hi

I have an old MSI GE60 2OE with nvidia 765m and intel 4700MQ and I use nvidia legacy 470 driver

I do gaming with proton-sarek (made for old gpus that doesn't have vulkan 1.3 support)

My issue is that when playing games like warframe It works but after sometime it would hang and I couldn't do anything until I shutdown the laptop using the power button

I had this issue on most linux distros (mint, arch, cachyos, etc ...) and I couldn't find a solution

The logs for the issue are in this proton drive link

Edit: this also happend when playing no man's sky

As a hardware guy, hardware problems are usually arrived at by a process of elimination. But your repeated use of the word 'old' and the line above set me thinking about hardware. I have set aside my laptop after this thread. I would reseat the cards, run copious sensor checks, try the box with ehe case off or open and a fan blowing a tornado on the works. You can also feel around for parts too hot to touch and look for bulging electrolytic capacitors. Also, clean whatever's dusty, drain & dry whatever's wet, and shine whatever's rusty. You'd be amazed how much stuff that fixes!
