Which forum is for issues with encrypting the home directory

Hi, I'm not very good with linux. I've used Mint and Lubuntu. I don't mess around with it more than I have to. Sometimes I can manage to install a program, but it can take me days to figure out how, searching for instructions and solutions to the issues that inevitably come up. Lately I've been having issues that can't be solved no matter how many instructions I find and follow to the letter.

To start, using Lubuntu, I can't encrypt my home directory either during the install or afterwards. During the install process it won't let me do it because of 'swap space' and in the post install process it won't let me because "Error cannot proceed". None of the solutions I've found so far solve these problems.

Hi there, and welcome to LQ.

The Newbies forum would be as good as any for your thread. Remember to say which version of Lubuntu you're running, the exact error messages you're seeing and where exactly they appear and, if possible, explain which solutions you have tried so far.

Ok, I'll ask there. Another question, how do you stay logged in? The forum logged me out after only about 5 minutes. I posted this question, went to do something, came back, and I was logged out.

On the login pages, just to the right of the boxes where you enter your login and password, is a check box entitled "Remember Me?". Checking that box keeps you logged in.
