Why are you "typing master" ? Is this the archive in question, a command?

How can we guess what error message your getting? (post it using CODE tags)

What is this "archive" for? What are you trying to install?

You should be using your package manager to install stuff.

Typing Master http://www.typingmaster.com is for Windows. You can find some Linux alternatives here https://alternativeto.net/software/t...platform=linux

Hello gowtha,

Welcome to LQ!

How are you trying to unpack the files. And, you could probably just use the package repos to install the software you want. Try running synaptic
Code:
$ sudo synaptic
Make sure to press the 'reload' button before you try to install anything.

Isn't that what I already said in post #2 AwesomeMachine?

It might be. But I don't really care if it is or not. Did you want a little plaque to hang on the wall that says, "I said it first?"

There's no need to be childish about it AwesomeMachine.

And no, I'm not interested in any "plaque on my wall".

The point is that you would not appreciate it if I replied after yourself telling the OP what you have already told them yourself.

Or are you saying you would like it?

The correct method you are looking for here is to use the Report button to report the unacceptable behavior of other members.

That includes this thread as well as another thread where you've posted a similar comment.

Your advice is welcome as is advice from all of our members, and also the questions from the OP. That is what the LQ site is about.

I have off-line discussed this issue with other members, but wish to state here for all members that in thread arguing will not be tolerated, nor will statements along these lines.

At this point, please allow the original poster a chance to update the forum if they have any additional questions.
