New Member - Cloud / Dev / Support

Hi All,

I'm a L3 linux support engineer, but have much to learn and many questions. Hopefully I can help some others as well.

Recently getting into some App dev, less for career growth more out of necessity to improve functionality on somethings. .. baby steps though.

Hi thanks for the welcome.

Working on building out my Linux blog. If anyone has time to check it out please let me know comments/suggestions.
AnalogFog.com

It's partially a notebook of the things I learn and want to have easy reference to in the future. It may prove useful to others too. I find writing these tutorial posts a good way to solidify the knowledge I'm picking up.

I have a lot of notes still to go through and add to it, so it's a little sparse at the moment.

^ always nice to see another linux blog.

but some of the titles don't make much sense; i mean, shouldn't it be "digital fog"?
and there's nothing about loose zips in that article...
i also object to "German" accent. i am very well able to pronounce "the".
"German Hollywood Accent" would have been acceptable.
but a bit of humour mixed into the information is always appreciated.

Very good point I will update and call it the "hollywood" German accent.
As a student of the German language (and food) I found it an entertaining mnumonic and has stuck with me over the years.

The idea behind the name was, digital tech is basically a quantization of an analog source over points of time, so the analog fog in my made up terminology is the digital interpretation of the analog world. The fog of analog points in space/time.
lol a little imaginitive but it works. Your name of "digital fog" is also appropriate, we're just describing the same thing from two different angles.

loose zips sink ships is just a pun on the expression "loose lips sink ships" and really just a guide to proper tar syntax at various levels of compression.

Thanks for taking a look!

German food?
oh, the horrors.
as someone who grew up here, I cannot think of even one "typical" or "traditional" german food that i would like to "study".
except for liquid bread of course.
