Hellow everybody our government in our region /Asia/Iran/Tehran Time zone decided to cancel Daylight Saving Time and we need to Disable DST in solareis 10 , it highly appreciate to help
#1 there should be a timezone setting that will lock you into the correct zone without the changes twice per year.
#2 The timezone data will be changed to reflect these changes for Linux and BSD distributions. I presume (not running an instance of SOLARIS for more than ten years) that there will be an update for Solaris to do that as well. If not, see #1.
In the EASTERN USA I have the timezones EST, EST5EDT, New_York. EST does not change, but if we adopt year round DT it would be EDT and that is missing from the zoneinfo so I might set to an adjacent zone that would not change, or wait for the update to the NewYork zoneinfo.
