Adding sort orders to Dolphin?

Hi there,

I wonder if/how it is possible to add sort orders to KDE Dolphin. I would like to sort video files by dimension, which is already offered for image files (but doesn't work for videos). I can imagine lots of other sort orders / groupings I'd add if I knew how.

I'm using Dolphin V 4.13.3 (same KDE version). Maybe it can be done via a KDE service?

I searched, but couldn't find anything, so help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi & Welcome to LQ! I don't know GUI (just a lot of OldUnix CLI), but here's a CLI idea, from:

Maybe you could adapt that to create a *symlink* containing the size! Like: foo.640x480.mp4
Or maybe put them is sub-directories by size.

I'm guessing you're right that there's no GUI option for this (&my ideas may not be useful);
maybe some other LQ'er will chime in (now that Thread got bumped off ZRT)
