We'll need a bigger part of the error message o figure out what happened. Please post it.

Could you tell us how you're creating the image?

I'd suggest you read this: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ad-4175614092/

And if you really are a pentester, then the following was posted describing this very situation: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...it-4175614101/

For starters, are you following a guide to do this where you can reference it for us, or instead can you relate the steps you are following in order to create this bootable USB with persistence?

The link below is to the Kali documentation site and on the right of the page, there are links to "Making a Kali Bootable USB drive" and 'Kali Linux Live USB persistence". That is what you need to read and follow and if you have problems, post here specificically what the problems are.

If you downloaded the Kali iso file from the Kali site (yes or no), did you do an md5 checksum after downloading to verify that the download was good?
Which operating system are you using to try to make the bootable usb? There are different methods described on their site for windows, Linux and Mac.

The Kali site indicates that you need a functioning usb first and then you add persistence. Have you successfully booted the Kali iso before trying to add persistence? Is the link below at the Kali site what your are using?

https://docs.kali.org/downloading/ka...sb-persistence

SQUASHFS error: Unable to read inode 0x1e3d

Secondly, im following this guide: https://docs.kali.org/downloading/ka...sb-persistence
Third, yes ive checked with a sha256sum to see wether or not it was correct.
Forth, yes Im able to boot live Kali Linux WITHOUT persistence succesfully.
Fith, yes ive read both of this posts: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...it-4175614101/ and https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ad-4175614092/ To "answer" the second one, ive always been practicing pentesing with vms but now I want to move on to wireless pentesting(reason why im doing it in a usb[detects my wireless card]).

Help is really appreciated as Ive been trying this out for a really long time. If you want any more info such as screenshots of the kern.log or messages file please be sure to ask for them.

Thank you.

I think you might be getting confused with the 'persistence.conf' file. The only thing that is supposed to be in that file is
Code:
/ union
with a space between. The commands in that section of the tutorial are to be run from the terminal, not put into a file.
