Dumb question. Did you consider that these files might be protected by DRM? Maybe they aren't normal .m4a. You need to download the .mp3 from the music you purchased?

It certainly looks like these files are in a proprietary format, maybe encrypted, so that Linux tools cannot handle them.
The strange filename, the result of file, all point to an unknown binary format.

My original goal in this was to be able to download music from my Amazon Music Unlimited account, convert to MP3 and put on my phone so that when we make a road trip I can play it as I do other music on my phone through Android Auto. This morning I went digging through some more Q&A about Amazon's Music Unlimited and their format. I pulled up some info about apps for Android Auto and found that the Amazon Music app can be read by Android Auto. Since I had it on my phone already I went out to the car and tried it. Sure enough all the 'stations' I'd added as well as my downloaded tracks were able to be played with no problem. No conversion needed.
I feel like such an ass! If I would have done more Googling I've had discovered that I can directly access the music app from the car. I can also access Pandora and others.

Ahahah, at least glad you don't have an issue anymore ^^
Can you mark this thread as [SOLVED] please?
EDIT: actually, your files seems corrupted to me. There are some resources on the Internet like the following about "moov atom not found": http://muzso.hu/2012/11/14/how-to-fi...atom-not-found. However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of solutions for you, except a so-called "Grau's Video Repair Tool" (I don't know what it's worth though...).
I'm pretty much convinced now that these are possibly DRM protected or as you suggest when downloaded they become corrupted. However, since I discovered that I can just add the tracks to a playlist and then play with the Amazon Music app through Android Auto I don't need any type of conversion. I should have done more digging before asking which was wrong on my part.
